Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka today (03) on a state visit, marking his first visit to the country since assuming office in 2023.

He will visit at the invitation of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and is expected to remain in the country until the 6th.

During the visit, President Muizzu is set to hold bilateral discussions with President Dissanayake aimed at further strengthening long-standing ties and cooperation between the two nations, the Foreign Affairs Ministry said.

Six memoranda of understanding are also expected to be signed to enhance bilateral cooperation.

Meanwhile, Police said a special traffic plan will be in place in Colombo from today (03) until the 6th in view of the visit. (NewsWire)
