Verdict in bribery cases against Sarana Gunawardena postponed to May 26

The Colombo High Court has ordered that the delivery of judgments in four cases filed by the Bribery Commission against former Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardena in connection with a corruption allegation be postponed until May 26.

These judgments were scheduled to be delivered today (30) by Colombo High Court Judge Mohamed Mihail.

However, the Judge announced that the judgments in these cases will be delivered on May 26.

The Bribery Commission had filed four cases against Sarana Gunawardena, alleging that while serving as Chairman of the National Lotteries Board in 2006, he caused a loss to the government by obtaining vehicles on a rental basis for the Board. (Newswire)
