Two youngmen were killed in a motorcycle accident in the Athurugiriya area early Sunday, Police said.

The accident occurred along the Athurugiriya–Kottawa road when the motorcycle reportedly lost control, veered off the road, and crashed into a wall.

Both the rider and pillion rider sustained critical injuries and were admitted to the Homagama Hospital, where they later succumbed to injuries.

The victims, both aged 20, were residents of Medirigiriya and Halawatha.

Police are conducting further investigations. (Newswire)
