Police have sought public assistance to locate a suspect accused of defrauding individuals by promising employment opportunities in Romania.

According to Police, the Criminal Investigation Department, together with the Commercial Crimes Division, has launched an investigation into a company identified as Rainbow Garments Technologies over allegations that it defrauded at least 750 individuals and obtained nearly Rs. 920 million through the scheme.

The suspect has been identified as 54-year-old Shirley Jayawardana Amadoru, a resident of Homagama, who is believed to be a director of the company. Police said he has fled the area.
