Police have sought public assistance to arrest a suspect accused of murdering a husband and wife in the Hatton-Dickoya town area before fleeing with gold jewellery.

The couple, who were residing inside a shop in the town, were found murdered on Friday.

According to investigations, the suspect had arrived in Dickoya town and visited several jewellery shops claiming he was interested in purchasing a gold chain.

Police said the suspect had later entered the shop where the couple lived and remained hidden inside before allegedly carrying out the murders and fleeing with jewellery.

CCTV footage of the suspect has been released to the media, and Hatton Police have appealed to the public for assistance in identifying and locating him. (Newswire)
