Minister Gamage vows to restore Sri Lanka’s cricket glory

Minister of Sports Sunil Kumara Gamage said cricket will be developed with the aim of securing a World Cup victory.
Speaking to the media, the Minister said that a nine‑member committee has been appointed to drive the effort.
“There are outsiders willing to assist us. I am confident we can resolve the issues and restore the glory of Sri Lankan cricket,” he said.
Gamage noted that the government’s policy is ‘A Thriving Nation, A Beautiful Life’, adding that sports are vital to a fulfilling life.
“It is our responsibility to develop sports. We will deliver on our promise to develop cricket,” he added. (Newswire)
