The Bauddhaloka Vesak Zone, organized for the 25th time, will take place along Bauddhaloka Mawatha from May 30 to June 01, coinciding with this year’s Vesak festival.

A preparatory meeting was held on Monday (18) at the Presidential Secretariat between Presidential Secretary Nandika Sanath Kumanayake and representatives of the Bauddhaloka Vesak Committee. 

The discussion focused on arrangements to enhance the celebrations, provide facilities for the public, and secure broad participation from state and private institutions.

Officials said the event is being organized under the guidance of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, with the Secretariat coordinating contributions from government agencies, security forces, and sponsoring companies.

Among those present were Colombo Mayor Vraie Cally Balthazaar, Senior Additional Presidential Secretary Roshan Gamage, All Ceylon Buddhist Congress President Chandra Nimal Vakishta, Vice President Roshan Maddumage, Treasurer Wasantha de Silva, senior officials from state institutions, security agencies, and corporate sponsors.
