Showers or thundershowers are expected in several sea areas off Sri Lanka’s western and northwestern coasts, with authorities warning of strong winds and very rough seas.

According to the weather advisory, showers or thundershowers are forecast in sea areas extending from Kankesanthurai to Galle via Mannar, Puttalam and Colombo during the evening or night.

Temporarily strong gusty winds of between 60 and 70 kmph could occur during thundershowers, while sea conditions could become very rough.

Naval and fishing communities operating in the affected sea areas have been urged to remain vigilant due to the potentially hazardous conditions. (Newswire)
