Train operations on the Main Line have been disrupted after a train derailed between the Kelaniya and Wanawasala railway stations.

According to reports, one track has been blocked after one of the carriages overturned on the railway line.

The train was reportedly travelling from Polgahawela to Colombo when the derailment occurred.

One person has been injured in the incident.

The Department of Railways said train services on the Main Line are currently affected due to the derailment. (Newswire)
