Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday (22) ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to report on the progress of the investigation into former State Intelligence Service Director Suresh Sallay and other suspects by May 20.

Sallay, who is in detention in connection with the Easter Sunday attack, was produced before the Fort Magistrate’s Court under tight security.

The court also ordered that he be further detained under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.

The order was issued when Sallay was produced in court in line with directions made by Fort Magistrate Isuru Neththikumara at the previous hearing. (Newswire)
