Young woman remanded for defacing Sigiriya Mirror Wall
The young woman accused of defacing the Sigiriya Mirror Wall has been remanded until September 26 by Dambulla Magistrate Nilantha Wimalaratne.
A group of workers from a factory in Avissawella had visited Sigiriya on Sunday (Sept 14) during which the woman was seen using a hairpin to scratch letters onto the historic Mirror Wall.
The suspect is a 21-year-old resident of Avissawella and was arrested by Archeology Department officers and later handed over the Police. (Newswire)
