One person has been reported dead and another injured following a shooting incident at Barber Street, Colombo, police said.

According to police, the shooting occurred short while ago, and the injured victim was admitted to hospital for treatment. Further details regarding the identity of the deceased and the motive for the attack are yet to be released. Investigations are ongoing.

In a separate incident, a 32-year-old person was shot and injured near a shop at Wadiyamankada in Kalutara North. Police said the victim was admitted to hospital and is receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition.
