Two Indian nationals arrested at BIA with Rs. 100mn worth of Kush

Two Indian nationals have been arrested at the Katunayake International Airport while attempting to smuggle a stock of Kush cannabis valued at Rs. 100 million. The arrests were made by officers of the airport’s Narcotics Bureau.

The suspects—a 37-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman—had reportedly purchased the narcotics in Bangkok, Thailand. They had travelled to Chennai, India, and then arrived in Sri Lanka on an IndiGo Airlines flight.

The suspects were found with 8.22 kilograms of Kush cannabis hidden in their luggage.
