Eight individuals, including the wife of the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in charge of the Colombo area, have been remanded until 26th August for allegedly engaging in treasure hunting.

The group was sentenced after being produced before the Anuradhapura Magistrate’s Court.

According to information received by the Anuradhapura Police, the suspects were allegedly engaged in treasure hunting yesterday (14) at a temple in Shravasthipura, Thimbirigaskadawala, Anuradhapura. (Newswire)
