A second person has died following a shooting incident near the Sahaspura housing complex in Borella on Thursday night, raising the death toll to two.

One victim died from injuries early this morning. Three others remain hospitalized with gunshot wounds. All are residents of Colombo, according to Police.

The shooting occurred while five individuals were making preparations for a scheduled sports event near the housing complex.

Two unidentified assailants reportedly arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire with a T-56 assault rifle.

Investigators recovered 25 bullet casings from the scene. Borella Police are continuing investigations. (Newswire)
