Mount Lavinia incident: Police release details of Foreign woman’s arrest

Police Spokesman said a Ukrainian national arrested following a late-night incident in Mount Lavinia has been remanded until April 22.
According to Police, the woman was arrested over alleged assault, robbery, and obstructing police officers during the incident reported outside a restaurant in Mount Lavinia on April 12.
Police said the suspect, who has been residing in Sri Lanka for around 12 years, was produced before court following her arrest by officers on night mobile patrol duty.
The court ordered that she be remanded until April 22, while further investigations are carried out.
Police also confirmed that the Sri Lankan woman who was allegedly assaulted had been referred for medical treatment. Further investigations are underway. (Newswire)
