Iran Embassy in Colombo opens condolence book for Khamenei

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Colombo has announced that a book of condolence will be opened following the reported death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In a diplomatic note dated March 2, the Embassy informed Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited to Sri Lanka of what it described as the “martyrdom” of the Supreme Leader during U.S. and Israeli attacks in Tehran on February 28.
The Embassy said the condolence book will be open at the Residence of the Ambassador at No. 222, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7, on the following dates:
• Wednesday, March 4, 2026 – 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
• Thursday, March 5, 2026 – 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
• Friday, March 6, 2026 – 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
