Govt to appoint Special Presidential Commission on coal procurement since 2009

Leader of the House Minister Bimal Rathnayake told Parliament that the government will appoint a Presidential Commission comprising sitting Supreme Court judges to investigate coal procurement spanning from 2009 to 2025/26.
Rathnayake said the commission will be tasked with examining all coal purchases during the period, amid allegations and concerns raised over procurement processes and pricing. (Newswire)
