EU allocates additional €1 million for Sri Lanka’s Cyclone Ditwah recovery

The European Union (EU) has allocated an additional €1 million (over Rs. 370 million) in humanitarian assistance to help communities affected by Tropical Cyclone Ditwah, the EU Delegation to Sri Lanka and the Maldives announced.
The funding is intended to address the continuing humanitarian impact of the cyclone and support ongoing relief operations across the country. According to the EU delegation, the assistance will be delivered through humanitarian partner organizations and will focus on providing basic services to affected communities.
The new funding comes as Sri Lanka continues recovery efforts following Tropical Cyclone Ditwah, which struck the island in late November 2025.
The European Union had earlier mobilized €2.35 million in emergency humanitarian funding through partner organizations shortly after the disaster. (NewsWire)
