Former Member of Parliament Sajin Vass Gunawardena appeared before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) this morning to provide a statement related to the ongoing investigation into the Easter Sunday terror attacks.

Former President Maithripala Sirisena had previously stated that he received phone calls from Indian intelligence services regarding the attacks.

Police have revealed that, based on investigations into the relevant phone numbers, those calls were reportedly made by Sajin Vass Gunawardena.

They confirmed that a statement was recorded from him today in connection with this matter. (Newswire)
