A 40-year-old woman was killed in the Diyabeduma Junction area of Aralaganwila on the night of Aug. 7, allegedly by her husband during a domestic dispute, police said.

The victim, a resident of Medaella Wewa, was attacked with a sharp weapon, according to investigators. Police said initial inquiries revealed the killing stemmed from a long-standing family dispute.

The 48-year-old suspect, identified as the woman’s husband, was arrested. Aralaganwila police are conducting further investigations. (Newswire)
