Colombo inflation eases to 1.6% in February

Colombo’s year-on-year inflation slowed to 1.6% in February, down from 2.3% in January, according to data released by the Department of Census and Statistics.
The figures, measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI), showed a sharp decline in food inflation, which fell to 0.2% in February from 3.3% a month earlier.
Non-food inflation, however, increased to 2.3% from 1.8% during the same period, reflecting higher prices in non-food categories. (NewsWire)
