Cricket coach Sunil Fernando has passed away, bringing to a close a career dedicated to nurturing and developing young cricketers in the country.

Fernando was widely respected in Sri Lanka’s cricketing circles as a committed mentor who played a key role in shaping the careers of several national players, including spin legend Muttiah Muralitharan.
