CCTV footage of the accident in Borella this morning shows a small crane crashing into several vehicles and running over motorcycles near the Borella Cemetery.

One person was reported dead, and six others had sustained injuries soon after the accident near a prominent junction in Colombo.

Police say post-accident medical examination has revealed that the driver had consumed cannabis at the time of the incident.

The crane, used for tree cutting, had been travelling from Rajagiriya towards Borella when the driver had lost control near the Borella cemetery, resulting in the accident.

At the time of the accident, it was reported that the crane had hit 06 motorcycles and three cars. (Newswire)
