ASPI surpasses 20,000-point mark for the first time

Marking another historic milestone in the history of Sri Lanka’s capital market, the All Share Price Index (ASPI) of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) surpassed the 20,000-point mark at the close of trading today (15).
According to the CSE, the ASPI rose by 289.69 points during the day, recording a closing value of 20,218.36 points.
Previously, on 04th August, the index had briefly crossed the 20,000-point mark during intraday trading, but ended the day below that level.
A notable highlight today was the massive transaction turnover, which amounted to Rs. 9.54 billion. (Newswire)
