Minister Bimal Ratnayake says Deputy Transport Minister Prasanna Gunasena visited the University of Peradeniya today to check on students affected by the flooding. 

He confirmed that the students are safe, but communication remains difficult due to disruptions to phone networks and electricity. 

The minister added that authorities are working to re-establish coordination with the campus. (Newswire)
