A team of officers from the Giribawa Police Station has arrested three suspects linked to a motorcycle theft ring operating in several police divisions.

The arrests were made during a crime prevention operation based on a tip-off received by the police. The suspects were apprehended in the Labubala area within the Giribawa Police Division, in possession of 305 milligrams of the drug ‘Ice’.

All three suspects are 20-year-old residents of Kotadeniyawa.

During questioning, the suspects confessed to their involvement in a series of motorcycle thefts in the Negombo and Kuliyapitiya police divisions. Police recovered four stolen motorcycles and another used by the suspects to carry out the crimes.
