Easter victim’s statement at OHCHR could harm Sri Lanka : Sajith
Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa told Parliament today that a statement by the father of Vihanga Tejan, a child killed in the 2019 Easter Sunday bombing at the Shangri-La Hotel, to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) could harm Sri Lanka internationally.
Premadasa said the victim’s father had informed the OHCHR that he was dissatisfied with the progress of the investigations, warning that such remarks could negatively affect the country’s standing abroad.
“This is harmful for the country. You must take steps to reassure the victims and give them the credibility they seek,” Premadasa said. (Newswire)
