Police say the body of a Chinese national, suspected to have fallen to his death, was discovered yesterday (18) near an apartment complex on Alwis Road, Dehiwala.

Police said the body was found behind the kitchen of a nearby house following a telephone tip-off to the Dehiwala Police Station.

A group of Chinese and Myanmar nationals employed at a private firm are residing on the 10th floor of the 11-storey building. Police suspect the deceased had fallen from an upper floor of the complex.

Dehiwala police are conducting further investigations. (NewsWire)
