A 40-year-old Swedish national was rescued from drowning off the Kottuhal beach in Pottuvil on August 29, police said.

The foreigner, who was engaged in water sports, was dragged into a current but was saved by the Kottuhal Police Life Saving Unit. Officers identified as Sergeant Ruwan, Constable Tharindu, and Constable Kumar carried out the rescue. (Newswire)
