A group of street food vendors who lost their stalls along the Galle Face Green staged a protest outside the Presidential Secretariat, carrying vade in hand.

The demonstration was organized by vendors affected by the recent removal of unauthorized stalls by the Port City Development and Advisory Company, which has been managing the Galle Face coastline.

While some vendors were allocated new stalls following the removal, others claim they have yet to be reinstated or compensated.

Those still without stalls joined the protest with the support of the Self-Employed Traders’ Association, calling for fair treatment. (Newswire)
