A pair of masked gunmen on a motorcycle fired a single shot into the air outside a house in Muthuhenawatta, Meegoda, around 10 p.m. on Wednesday before fleeing the scene, police said.

Investigators said the assailants used a 9mm pistol, with the bullet and casing recovered in front of the residence. The motorcycle was last seen heading toward Muthuhenawatta Road.
