Sri Lanka Police has seized a stock of ambergris (fossilized resin of a whale) that was being prepared to be sold for Rs. 05 million in the Divulapitiya Police Division.

According to the Police, the stock of ambergris was seized during a raid conducted by officers of the Divulapitiya Police Station in the Bomugammana area on the Divulapitiya-Negombo road yesterday.

The Police arrested a suspect with 1.2 kilos of ambergris, which is a secretion produced by sperm whales.
