A 36-year-old fishing skipper was injured after two men on a motorcycle opened fire at him near Mirissa Junction, according to Police Media Spokesman ASP F.U. Wutler.

Police said the victim sustained gunshot injuries in the incident and was admitted to the Matara Hospital for treatment.

Investigations are underway to identify the suspects and determine the motive behind the shooting, police added. (Newswire)
