The Overall Rate of Inflation, measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI) on a year-on-year basis, has increased to 7.3% in July 2026.

According to the Department of Census and Statistics, the figure is an increase compared to the 6.8% reported last month.  

Food inflation has also increased to 6.3% in July 2026, compared to the 3.6% recorded in June 2026.

However, non-food inflation has decreased to 7.8% in July 2026 from the 8.4% reported in June.
