Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed responsibility for a missile strike targeting Amazon’s data infrastructure in Bahrain, marking what it described as retaliation for recent U.S. military attacks on Iran.

In a statement carried by Iranian state-linked media, the IRGC said cruise missiles struck and destroyed what it called Amazon’s “central data infrastructure” in Bahrain. It also claimed the attack targeted U.S. air defence systems in the Gulf kingdom.

The alleged strike comes amid escalating hostilities between Iran and the United States, with Tehran accusing Washington of attacking civilian infrastructure, including the Darkhovin nuclear facility under construction in Iran.

However, there has been no independent confirmation that the Amazon facility was hit. Amazon, Bahraini authorities and U.S. officials had not confirmed the IRGC’s claims at the time of publication. (Newswire)
