Namal’s Krrish case fixed for trial on July 7

The Colombo High Court today scheduled the case filed against Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa over the controversial Krrish transaction to be taken up for trial on July 7, 2026.
The case, filed by the Attorney General, was mentioned before the court this morning, where the pre‑trial conference was concluded.
Following this, High Court judges ordered that the matter be listed for trial in July.
The Attorney General has filed charges alleging that Namal Rajapaksa committed criminal breach of trust by obtaining Rs. 70 million from the Indian Krrish company, purportedly for the promotion of rugby in Sri Lanka. (Newswire)
