One person has been reported injured in the Ratnapura District due to the prevalent inclement weather in Sri Lanka, according to the Disaster Management Centre (DMC).

As of 06.00 am today (16), the death toll due to adverse weather conditions is two, reported from the Jaffna and Batticaloa Districts. 

A total of 4099 persons from 1263 families across 12 districts have been severely affected. 

The DMC states 84 persons from 24 families have been moved to two temporary safety shelters, while 77 persons from 21 families have been placed at their relatives’ residences.

A total of 141 houses have sustained partial damage, while one house has been completely damaged. (Newswire)
