Batticaloa District MP Shanakiyan Rasamanickam today (05) extended congratulations to Indian actor‑turned‑politician C. Joseph Vijay on what he described as a historic election victory.

Speaking in Parliament, Rasamanickam said that as the premier Tamil political party in Sri Lanka, they look forward to working closely with the Government of Tamil Nadu and the people of Tamil Nadu.

His remarks come in the wake of Vijay’s electoral success in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Election 2026, where his Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) emerged as the largest party. (Newswire)
