A suspect linked to an organised drug trafficking network has been arrested in Homagama with 12 kg of heroin worth around Rs. 120 million, Police said.

The arrest was made on Friday (24) by the Western Province North Crimes Division.

Police said the suspect is believed to be operating under an overseas-based organised crime figure known as “Homagama Gagana,” who is alleged to be involved in drug trafficking.

The arrest was carried out based on information obtained during the interrogation of previously detained suspects.

Investigations have revealed that the wider network has so far led to the seizure of approximately 37 kg of narcotics. (Newswire)
