The United National Party (UNP) has announced that former President Ranil Wickremesinghe has returned to Sri Lanka following surgery at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore. 

According to the UNP statement, he arrived at the Katunayake International Airport this morning (09).

Wickremesinghe departed for Singapore on March 15 to undergo the medical procedure. 

The party further noted that, in line with medical advice, he is expected to spend several weeks recuperating. (Newswire)
