Breaking : Bangladesh asks Pakistan to play India

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has formally requested Pakistan to go ahead with the scheduled ICC Men’s T20 World Cup match against India on 15 February, saying the fixture would be in the best interest of the entire global cricket ecosystem.
In a media release issued from Dhaka on Monday (9 February), the BCB said the request followed recent discussions held during a short visit to Pakistan by BCB President Md Aminul Islam.
The BCB also expressed its sincere appreciation to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the International Cricket Council (ICC), and all parties involved for their efforts in navigating recent challenges faced by international cricket.
In particular, the BCB conveyed its gratitude to PCB Chairman Mohsin Raza Naqvi, the PCB leadership and cricket fans in Pakistan, noting that Pakistan had demonstrated exemplary sportsmanship and solidarity during the period.
Aminul Islam said Bangladesh was deeply moved by Pakistan’s efforts to go above and beyond in supporting the country, adding that the cooperation shown reflected the spirit of brotherhood within the cricketing world.
He said that, in light of the positive outcomes from the recent discussions, the BCB had requested Pakistan to participate in the high-profile India–Pakistan T20 World Cup match, emphasising that the game would benefit players, fans, broadcasters and stakeholders connected to the tournament.
