The Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) has announced plans to start vehicle number plate printing within the next three months.

The task was awarded to a company through a tender process, and the firm is reportedly making the necessary preparations to begin operations.

Printing is expected to start at the department’s main office in Werahera. Initially, around 400,000 vehicles are scheduled to receive new number plates.

The department said once printing begins, it aims to issue the plates promptly to the relevant vehicle owners. (NewsWire)
