Sri Lanka’s apparel exports grew by 5.2% in June 2025 compared to the same month last year, with notable gains in the EU (+23.1%) and UK (+20.4%) markets, offsetting declines in the USA (-5.7%) and other regions (-9.3%).
For the first half of 2025 (Jan–Jun), cumulative exports rose by 8.95% year-on-year, driven by strong performance in the EU (+16.7%), followed by USA (+4.1%), UK (+6.4%), and other markets (+8.9%).
Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF) says the figures reflect encouraging momentum in key markets like the EU and UK. The industry continues to navigate global headwinds with resilience, supported by strategic diversification and sustained buyer confidence in Sri Lankan apparel.
