Police have arrested five suspects in connection with the murder of a man whose body was found dumped along the Homagama bypass road on July 10, 2025. Investigations revealed that the victim, a resident of Colombo 13, was killed by forcefully striking his head after restraining his neck.

Following the initial inquiry, the Nugegoda Division Crime Investigation Unit traced the vehicle used to transport the body to a location along the Rambukkana-Kegalle road. One suspect, who had transported the victim, was arrested in Mawanella two days after the crime.

Four additional suspects aged between 18 and 24, all residents of Colombo 14 and 15, were arrested on the night of July 25 in Grandpass and Madampitiya.
