A man has climbed a lamp post on the Galle Face Green road and staged a protest.

It is reported that the protest is being staged over claims that he has been subjected to injustice by the Kelaniya Police.

Reports state that the protester had also tied a noose around his neck.

A fire engine was on site to rescue the protester, while a team from the 1990 emergency ambulance service were also at the scene to provide necessary first aid.
