The Sri Lankan Rupee has appreciated slightly against the US Dollar today (01 Jan), the first working day of the year 2026, compared to Wednesday (31 Dec), the last working day of 2025.

According to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, the buying rate of the US Dollar has reduced from Rs. 306.29 to Rs. 305.83.

Meanwhile, the selling rate of the Sri Lankan Rupee has dropped from Rs. 313.83 to Rs. 313.42.

However, the Sri Lankan Rupee has appreciated against a basket of foreign currencies, including Gulf currencies. (Newswire)
