He added that 6,700 new patients were registered at the hospital during the same period.
Responding to a question raised by SJB MP Chamindrani Kiriella, Dr. Wijemuni noted that the hospital sees a daily clinic attendance of between 950 and 1,000 patients.
The Minister also said that the hospital maintains a bank account for donations which received Rs. 242 million in 2020, Rs. 280 million in 2021, Rs. 337 million in 2022, Rs. 406 million in 2023, Rs 461 million in 2024 and Rs. 478 Million in 2025. “These funds are solely being utilised by the hospital,” he said noting that the funds have not been utilised thus far.
The funds will be used to procure a new CT scanner, with the procurement process currently underway. The remaining amount will go toward purchasing other essential medical equipment for the hospital, the minister said. (Newswire)
