2006 assault case : Nimal Lanza granted bail
The Negombo High Court today released former MP Nimal Lanza on a surety of Rs. 200,000.
Nimal Lanza had been remanded by the Negombo Magistrate’s Court over several allegations, including a 2006 assault.
On 29th August, Lanza surrendered to Kochchikade Police, after which he was arrested and remanded.
He faces charges filed by the Attorney General over alleged assault and unlawful entry during a protest in 2006. (Newswire)
